We were supposed to buy this version for our Introduction to Literature lecture. As the good student I am I did, and was highly disappointed. I'd read the play before, in a "regular" version (without any notes or comments) and had liked that much better. About one quarter of each page is text, the rest comments, which robs you of any pleasure to read Shakespeare and keeps you from getting absorbed and thinking about it yourself. No doubt this version is invaluable for those who've read Hamlet so often they can start studying it seriously, but for all the others I recommend to first read the plain text. Even if it may take a while to get into Shakespearean English, it'll be worth it.
Wunderbares kleines Buch, welchem an nichts mangelt. Ich persönlich bevorzuge die Skriptvariante des Werkes, welche bei Reclam ja gegeben ist. Auch sind die Reclam Bücher immer eine gute Quelle wenn man mal einen Monolog/Dialog für ein Vorsprechen im Theater oder beim Film braucht. Ich gebe 5 von 5 Sternen, auch für die schnelle Lieferung.

Das Buch hat einen leicht Gummiartigen Einband, was ich außergewöhnlich und gut fand.Die Story startet direkt ohne Vorwort und Nachwort. Lediglich die Charaktere sind aufgelistet.Ich finde das Layout toll und einladend gestaltet. Das Lesen macht daher umso mehr spaß.
Die synoptische Textausgabe ist sehr übersichtlich gestaltet und bietet auf einfachem Wege einen Überblick über den Originaltext einerseits und dessen Bedeutung andereseits. Dies ist insbesondere für diejenigen interessant, denen es nicht um eine akribische philologische Erschließung des Dramas geht, sondern um eine zeitökonomisch sinnvolle Rezeption des Dramas überhaupt. Interessante Einzelpassagen können trotzdem vertiefend nachgelesen werden.Als besonders fruchtbar erweist sich die Möglichkeit, dieses Buch parallel mit der strikt am Originaltext orientierten "Hamlet"-Verfilmung (gemeint ist die unbedingt zu empfehlende Langversion) Kenneth Branaghs zu verwenden.Hamlet (Special Edition, 2 DVDs)Selbst skeptische Rezipienten werden so von Shakespeare begeistert sein.
Es geht einfach nichts über Shakespeare im Original.Für mich persönlich als Shakespeare-Liebhaber ein wahrer Genuss, aber auch für jeden, der sich einfach an guter Literatur erfreut.Für Anfänger wäre allerdings eine Englisch-Englisch-Ausgabe, d.h. mit Transkription in modernes Englisch, empfehlenswert. Wer allerdings über dementsprechende Kenntnisse in Englisch und mit klassischer deutscher Literatur (Goethe, Schiller etc) vertraut ist, dürfte kaum Verständnisschwierigkeiten haben.
Ich liebe Shakespeare, habe auch keine Probleme mit englischen Texten. Aber Shakespeare auf dem Kindle geht gar nicht. Durch die geänderte Textgröße (ich bin nun mal nicht mehr die jüngste) wird die Versform vollkommen durcheinandergebracht. Und der Genuss beim Lesen ist vollkommen dahin. Daher gibt es nur 3 Sterne. Für den Text selbst hätte ich 5 gegeben.
tolles Buch, als großer Shakespeare-fan..mit Begeisterung gelesen und direkt verliebt. Die Schrift ist gut lesbar und das Buch befand sich in einem guten Zustand.
